Autumn is just around the corner, and my wedding season is slowly drawing to a close. That's why today I'm sharing the second part of my DJ Summer series. This time, I'm covering three months, because things have been quite busy...
July took me all over Bavaria again, and I also made a short visit to Hamburg (more on that in another blog post). First up was Kolbermoor and the location with the old kettle. The ASTERAS AX3 lights adhere very well to the kettle thanks to their magnets, which offers a lot of lighting possibilities...
After that, we went straight to a location at Puchermeer near Fürstenfeldbruck...
The venue used to be called Lighthouse, and since a new tenant took over, a lot has changed for the better. The only downside is that on hot days, if you're holding a wedding there, you have to "guard" the toilet from beachgoers. Overall, though, it's become a very nice venue.
When you travel a lot, you need to find a balance every now and then, and so I found myself back at the Kulturstrand to listen to a piece by NoPlace...
The day continued with two fantastic company events. One was at Hellabrunn Zoo and the other at a special "lost place" in Bad Tölz...
At the end of July, I found myself at a fantastic location near Ulm. The Baier factory is beautiful, somewhat unusually situated, but it's a great place to celebrate and party. And the owners really go to great lengths to always offer their guests something new...
Sadly, fate struck in August, and my father passed away very suddenly and far too soon. This was incredibly difficult for me, as I had to cancel DJ gigs, and I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank my clients for your understanding and sympathy. It's hard to celebrate at this stage of life, and that's why I took some time off this August...
Nevertheless, I had a fantastic wedding in August at the Alperie on Lake Schliersee. It was a new venue for me, and they even have a dedicated DJ parking area. A really beautiful location, and I'll write more about it in another blog post...
And just like that, it was September and almost everything went back to normal...
Gut Staltach is a very large and beautiful venue near the Osterseen lakes, behind Lake Starnberg. The lovely, spacious outdoor area offers plenty of room for children to play, and with the right caterer, you can even party there until the early hours...
Next stop: Ramsau
The Gasthaus Ramsau is a very rustic, family-run establishment that's quite special, even just from its appearance. Our next stop was the Buscharner Seewirt for the O2 summer festival...
Overall, it was a fantastic summer with many wonderful guests and incredibly vibrant parties. The tragic loss in my family has affected me deeply and continues to weigh on me. But I was also shocked by some of the venues I visited again after the pandemic. These places haven't learned anything and are still operating as they did before.
What bothers me personally is that during the pandemic, there was plenty of time to set the course for the future. Nothing happened, and so this year two more venues were added where I will no longer be playing. Because of the pandemic and family tragedies, I've begun to rethink things, and there are certain circumstances, situations, conditions, opinions, and behaviors that I can no longer accept or tolerate as they were before.
I'll be traveling around Germany again for a while and helping my wife promote her new book, so I can go full throttle again in December for the Christmas party season. I'll also have some musical developments this year, but more on that later...
