Welcome, party enthusiasts and restaurant owners! When it comes to organizing an unforgettable celebration, speakers and the right volume play a crucial role. In this blog post, we'll explore why the quality of your speakers affects the atmosphere and why streaming via Spotify isn't always the best choice.
Currently, I'm traveling a lot again, and the pre-Christmas season is always Christmas party season. More and more venues where my clients take me have their own sound systems installed. This is mostly due to the fact that these venues also have neighbors and residents living in the same building or nearby. Noise regulations in cities are also becoming increasingly restrictive, and there will be further changes at the EU level in the coming years.
Unfortunately, I have to say that while most of the installed systems are perfectly adequate for background music and can play Spotify loudly and clearly, as soon as a DJ (who takes their job seriously and knows their way around audio) arrives with their high-quality audio files and starts playing, these speakers and sound systems very quickly reach their limits.
Why are good music speakers so important?
- Sound quality: High-quality speakers deliver a clear and balanced sound that will delight your guests' ears. In contrast, inferior speakers can distort the sound and spoil the atmosphere.
- Bass that vibrates: A powerful bass is the heart of every party. Good speakers deliver deep and palpable bass that makes the dance floor shake and creates an energetic atmosphere.
- Volume without distortion: When the party is in full swing, it's important that the speakers can handle the volume without distortion. High-quality speakers reproduce the sound clearly and distinctly, even when you turn the volume up.
Finding the right volume: An art in itself.
- Adapt to your guests: Every party has its own dynamic. Adjust the volume accordingly. A social gathering requires a moderate volume, while a dance party can be a bit louder.
- Be considerate of your neighbors: Don't just think about the partygoers, but also about your neighbors. A balanced volume level ensures that everyone can have fun without disturbing the entire neighborhood. That's why noise assessments and the resulting construction measures are always a good investment for venues in city centers.
- Avoid distortion: Music that's too loud can cause distortion, which not only impairs the sound but can also shorten the lifespan of your speakers. Make sure to keep the volume within the optimal range. A tip that many amateur DJs should take to heart.
Why Spotify isn't always the best choice
- Loss of quality when streaming: Although Spotify offers a huge music library, streaming can lead to a loss of quality. Especially with high-quality speakers, high-resolution audio formats or local files are often the better choice.
- Ad interruptions: Nothing can ruin the mood at a party faster than unexpected ad breaks. Some free Spotify subscriptions have ads that pop up right in the middle of your favorite song.
- Dependence on internet connection: Parties in remote locations or with an unstable internet connection can cause problems with streaming. Local music files are the more reliable option in these cases.
Overall, good speakers and the right volume are crucial for a successful party. Invest in high-quality speakers, choose the volume wisely, and consider local music options to ensure your next celebration is unforgettable. Let's turn up the music and hit the dance floor!
